The trust was established in 1978 with a capital of taka 10 lakhs initially. In 2007 due to political unrest and other adverse events the activities of Begum Zebunnessa and Kazi Mahboobullah Janakalyan Trust was suspended temporarily. In 2012 the donor trust members decided to activate the trust again . In this regard the donor members again made personal contributions to enhance the trust fund.

The trust fund is deposited in postal (G.P.O), Commercial Banks and in ICB unit Certificate; and all the expenses for the activities of the trust are met from the interest earned. The trust activities consists of giving scholarship to meritorious and poor students; giving awards in recognition of merit and excellence in field of Literary and Cultural Pursuits, Sports, Media and Journalism and scientific research. Besides the above Mentioned educational institutions Bhanga Girls College ,Sadarpur Girls College , Sadarpur Degree College, Charvodrasan College and Charvodrasan senior Madrasha also gets finalcial support from the trust .

The Kazi Bary Zame Mosque, Kawlibera , Bhanga, Faridpur also receives financial aid from the trust. The trust also gives scholarship to meritorious and poor students studying M.B.B.S, Degree Nursing, Engineering, Polytechnic, Agriculture, and textile. Public University students are also given scholarship to further their higher studies.
